The Oscar race is heating up. Just 15 films keep on being in the running for the Documentary Aspect category for the 91st Academy Awards. Over 160 films have been at first submitted for consideration.
Seven of the titles to make the reduce are ladies directed or co-directed, amounting to about 47 per cent of the listing. The attributes up for honors include Sandi Tan’s “Shirkers,” an investigation into what occurred to a lacking film she produced as a teen, Julie Cohen and Betsy West’s “RBG,” a portrait of Supreme Courtroom justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin’s “Free Solo,” a seem within Alex Honnold’s quest to climb Yosemite’s 3,000ft high El Capitan Wall with no using ropes or harnesses.
Oscar nominations will be introduced January 22, and the ceremony will take place February 24.
