  1. I don't know if you've read the book 'First Man: The life of Neil A. Armstrong' but, if you haven't, perhaps you should. I have. Several times. It's a great book. In the book the author goes into great detail describing Armstrong's thoughts and concerns during the mission. It was very apparent from Neil's words that two of his greatest concerns were the LM landing and the subsequent assent from the moon back into lunar orbit for it's docking with the command module. Neither had ever been done before. If the assent vehicle engine did not ignite, as Neil pointed out, Buzz and he would have only had a couple days before certain death. The author also details Neil's concerns about the planting of flag. The fact that the pole could only depressed it about 6" into the lunar soil before hitting the crust was of great concern. Neil feared it would fall over and lay forever in the lunar dust. He seemed very relieved when they managed to get the flag to stay upright. It was obviously very important to him.
It was clear the assent back into lunar orbit was very tense requiring all of their attention focused inside of the vehicle to avoid any mistakes that could have cost them their lives. As Neil points out, that once the engine ignited he did not much time to look out the window at the surface of the moon. But Neil did make time for one thing as they rocketed away: to check on the flag. He was saddened to see that their rocket burn on lift off had blown the flag over and it was laying in the dust. I can't say if the movie 'First Man' dishonored the flag or not since I have not bothered to watch it. Nor do I plan to. I can only surmise two things: One, that the flag was unimportant to those who created the movie. And two, from Neil's own words, that this particular flag was very important to him.

  3. Wish I had never watched this movie… up until now all I had was what I have read about this mission… now we get to add the female drama… give me a fucking break, no one who had the drive, determination and motivation to be the first man who walked on the moon would have been as pussy whipped as they portrayed Neil in this movie… and could you have cast someone uglier than Claire Foy???… maybe the current day Molly Ringwald… holy shit, I just walked on the MOON bitch… ummmm, what have you done… yeah NOTHING!!!!!… Fuck her, fuck this movie!

  4. The whole world knows NASA is owned by America. The whole world knows America leads in space exploration. The whole world knows that America went to the moon first. This movie has a lot of display of American flag in it.
But idiotic Americans attacked this great movie and the great story behind it cause they didn't show a scene where flag was being planted on the moon.
These American idiots think that it was flag that took them to the moon. They don't care about the science behind it. They don't care about the human casualties. They care only about a flag planting scene.
I'm not an American and I can't help but feel ashamed that such a great country will have so much idiots living in it.

  5. Also the first launch they show is Gemini 8 and the person saying we got a bad fire is Apollo 1 and when Neil says we got serious problems was the Gemini 8 spin and the big tall rocket was Apollo 11
